- This bit has a serious error: The 'Amiga is cheap' bit. Amiga ain't
- cheap at all -- I was faced with a choice last year: either upgrade
- my Amiga 1200 to include a tower with Zorro slots, a 68030 and a
- graphics card, or buy a new computer (mac/pc) altogether. Well,
- upgrading the Amiga would have cost as much as a new, complete Pen-
- tium-75 system, monitors and everything, and 16mb of memory.
-
- I took the Pentium option, and now, a few months later, I have one
- thing to say: The PC is cheap, but you get what you pay for. You
- get the poor man's implementation. The PC isn't anywhere near
- Amiga's comfort of use and it really takes a lot to trust your
- music on a PC. My PC system crashes all the times, while my Amiga
- had a minor mishap every couple months.
- Of course, all of this is personal preference stuff, but I never
- liked crashes and data loss. Obviously some people do.
-
- The PC is like a zombie that was pumped with steroids and stuff
- to make it seem like a modern system. It's now beginning to
- show; the ancient hardware cannot cope with what it is put
- up against nowadays. The PC was designed for spreadsheets under
- DOS, remember?
